An 80-year-old man’s body is found in the Yarkon River with three stab wounds to the chest and a number tattooed on his forearm. Amnon, a police detective and second generation Holocaust survivor, is reluctantly assigned to the case after a lengthy suspension. Even the most horrible club in the world, the club of Holocaust survivors, requires a “membership”. In the weeks leading up to his death, the victim, Amikam, was after just such a membership. Despite his age, he is still attractive and his appeal is evident as he scours the obituaries in search of widows to charm. As the story interweaves past and present, we witness each man’s struggle to rejoin the society that rejected him.
