Guest (via zoom): Director, Ma’ayan Rypp

In this darkly comedic drama, we follow Ella, a costume designer and theatredresser, who is entangled in a long-term relationship with Assaf, a respected playwright who is married to another woman. When Assaf unexpectedly passes away, Ella finds out belatedly and attends his Shiva, concealing her true identity. Immersed in a world previously off-limits to her, Ella navigates intimate encounters with Assaf’s family, including his wife, as she grapples with her place in his life and asserts her rightful claim to mourn his loss.

Stellar performances by Dana Ivgy and Ania Bukstein shine in Ma’ayan Rypp’s directorial debut, bringing depth and complexity to the characters. This film delves into nuanced themes of grief, identity, and relationships, leaving audiences contemplating its intricacies long after the credits roll.
