When Orthodox Judaism denies a young man his Jewish identity, he sets out to uncover the truth of who he is. Along the way, he discovers the echoes of his father’s similar experience years earlier and begins to wrestle with questions of belonging. Son of a Seeker is Vancouver filmmaker Kai Balin’s deeply personal journey about what it means to continue being Jewish in the 21st century. That journey spanned three continents, including stops in Poland, Hungary, Romania, Italy, Israel and, of course, Vancouver.
