The story is based on the novel “The Loves Of Judith” by the great Israeli writer Meir Shalev, beautifully scripted by the director together with his wife Nicoletta Micheli.

Set in the in the late 1970s, Esther, an American woman, is given a mysterious letter upon her mother’s death that sends her out on a journey to Israel in search of her family’s origins. Piece by piece, she unlocks a secret about her family’s past. The extraordinary story is reconstructed by moving between the past and present to the past again exploring the different characters that connect Esther to the woman who changed their lives.
