DAVID PAPERNY

President, Partner, Co-Founder, Executive Producer, and

Documentary Filmmaker

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, David Paperny is the Academy Award® nominated and Gemini-award winning co-founder, lead partner and executive producer at Paperny Films. David received his B.A. from the University of Toronto and his M.A. from the Annenberg School of Communications, University of Pennsylvania. He began his career in broadcast journalism in 1983 at the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) in Toronto and his unique, in-depth coverage of the L.A. riots of 1992 received a Gemini nomination. He is a respected producer of high-quality factual entertainment programming and one of the lead creative masterminds behind the company’s prolific production slate.

AUDREY MEHLER

Partner, Co-Founder, Documentary Filmmaker

Audrey Mehler is the co-founder and partner of Paperny Films. She is also a prolific documentary filmmaker who has won several awards for her work. Born in Los Angeles, Audrey completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Intrigued by the power and impact of the mass media, Audrey went on to study at the Annenberg School of Communications where she met the weird and illustrious David Paperny.  From there, life became a whirlwind of filmmaking, photography and art appreciation up and down the island of Manhattan and the continent of Africa.  Audrey lives in Vancouver with David and their three amazing children.
